Kari Kepala Ikan Kampung Pandan

Destinasi jalan-jalan singgah makan daku kali ini ialah ke Restoran Kari Kepala Ikan Kampung Pandan yang cukup terkenal di ibu kota Kuala Lumpur.

Siapa lagi yg suka benor makan gulai kari kalau bukan buah hati terchenta, mr suami. Laju je beliau nak bawa daku makan2 di sini sementelaah haritu kami berurusan di area Desa Pandan.

Besar juga tapak restoran kari kepala ikan nih. ada 2 tingkat. tingkat bawah ruang terbuka manakala di tingkat atas ruang ber aircond. Kalu kereta tak muat nak parking dlm kawasan restoran, mereka ada sediakan ruang parking khas di seberang jln mengadap restoran.

banyak lauk-pauk yg tersedia di sini. portion dia pun bersaiz besar-besar. udang besar, sotong besar, ketam pun besar. (harga pun pasti besar)

selain lauk-pauk berkuah, ada juga lauk jenis goreng2 spti ayam goreng rempah, ketam goreng & sotong salut tepung. yg pasti semuanya bersaiz besar

Yeahhh.. wajib ambik !. apa barang pegi sini kalau tak pekena kari kepala ikan. Inilah favorite mr suami. Asal ada kari, selera beliau semakin menjadi-jadi. Tetapi pada daku gulai kaari nih biasa2 saje mungkin daku lebih suka gulai kari yg ala-ala kemelayuan. Kalau korang peminat kari mamak, daku rasa ini antara gulai kari yg best kot !.   Habis ke makan  kepala ikan tuh?… Mungkin kalau tengok saiz kepala ikan yang dihidangkan korang rasa ia terlalu besar, tapi percayalah, bila dah makan, tak terasa ikan tu dah lunyai korang kerjakan

frankly speaking, kalau korang tanya daku, hanya 3/5 bintang yg dapat daku berikan utk makan2 di sini. Yg menarik krn lauk dia sangat banyak, rambang mata semasa nak memilih. Layanan pun sangat pantas (standard kedai mamak). Masa pegi makan time lunch memang ramai umat manusia berpusu ke sini. Mungkin sedap kot tapi pada daku biasa2 jer.

Dari segi harga? ermmm, kalau bajet kecil daku nasihatkan korang tak payah ambil lauk2 lain, cukuplah dengan kepala ikan saja, tapi kalau still nak udang besar, sotong, ketam, ayam dan sebagainya, confirm bil korang akan cecah tiga angka. Utk makluman korang, sepinggan kari kepala ikan kat atas ni harganya sekitar RM 50 ++  !!! Jadi boleh anggarlah jika korang ambil menu2 sampingan lain….

Nasi Ayam Kampung @ Restoran Hasan Awan Besar

My hubby discovered a new eating place that serves fantastic deep fried ayam kampung (free range chicken) and their constant ravings got me really curious. I was surprised when he told me that the restaurant is located along the Kesas Highway; Awan Besar rest area to be precise. To avoid paying for toll on our way there, we went via Taman OUG. Alternatively, you can enter into Kesas Highway via the LDP.

I didn’t expect the place to be a huge restaurant with a building on its own. I thought it was just a normal small Malay nasi campur stall that we commonly see at rest areas. After ‘googling’ for more information, I found out that they have outlets all over Klang Valley such as Kampung Baru, USJ Taipan, Cheras, Shah Alam and Puchong.

We arrived at the restaurant around 11.00 a.m. hence most dishes were still untouched. Perfect!! I was so tempted to snap a photo of each dish.

The ayam kampung are lightly rubbed with salt and deep fried on the spot. Do remember to ask for your preferred part. The size of the chicken is quite small, slightly bigger than spring chicken.

Perfectly golden in colour!! Judging from the crispy-looking outer layer, I thought it was too dry. I was so wrong. One bite and the sweet juices from the chicken came oozing out from the perfectly fried chicken. At that instance, I understand why my hubby kept raving about it. The chicken was SOOO tasty!!!!

I certainly will return to try other dishes and the ayam kampung….

Ni dinner kami malam tadi….. saje je nak try n warm-up periuk steamboat yg baru saya beli 2 hari lalu…… First percubaan saya guna resepi  tomyam sebagai kuahnya…..!

Bahan2nya pula simple2 je seperti  fishball, fish cake, kangkung, pk choi, kailan, daging, udang dll… masa beli bahan2 steamboat tu, agak lewat so tak dapatlah nak beli udang dan ketam….

So  kita masak apa yg apa yg ade jelah…

Kuah steamboat saya hanya guna kuah tomyam!….  sebab periuk tomyam saya ni ada satu compartmen shj… next time saya nak cuba try kuah sup pula….

Bahan2 yg kita nak campakkan dalam kuah tu terpulanglah pada kita… kalau makan kat luar sampai berpuluh2 bahan diorang sajikan… dan kalau masak kat rumah ni pula boleh terus pilih bahan2 yg kita suka….

My fav steamboat mesti banyak cendawan dan sayuran hijau….. hubby pula suka daging, dan seafood dan fish ball…. terpulanglah pada selera masing2!!!
